UV Transilluminator with filter 20 cm x 20 cm (For detection of more than 50 ng of DNA) is a product in which Ultraviolet light is used regularly in laboratories for the visualization of the DNA and RNA bands created during agarose gel electrophoresis. In the electromagnetic spectrum, UV light refers to light of wavelength between 10 nm to 400 nm. UV light tubes are placed inside gel documentation systems and it illuminates gels stained with compounds such as ethidium bromide. The ethidium bromide is bound to the nucleic acids suspended in the gel and when it is illuminated by the UV light, it gets excited. When it reaches back from its excited state, it releases energy in the form of fluorescent light. The Product is for the purpose of analysis of gels in laboratories with the help of UV light of wavelength 312 nm.
