DESCRIPTION:

Bradford’s assay is a rapid and accurate method
for estimation of protein concentration. Morever,
when compared with the Lowry’s Method it is
subject to less interference by common reagents
and nonprotein components of biological sample.
It is a ready to use reagent kit for more sensitive
estimation of protein. Consequently it is useful
when the amount of the unknown protein is
limited. This assay has a sensitivity of 0.001 mg/tube.
The assay relies on the binding of the dye
Coomassie blue G250 to protein. The quantity of
protein can be estimated by determining the
amount of dye in the blue ionic form. This is
usually achieved by measuring the absorbance
of the solution at 595 nm or 625 nm.
