Composition :
Peptic digest of animal tissue : 20.00 gm/lit.
Agar : 12.00 gm/lit.
Lactose : 10.00 gm/lit.
Bile salts : 5.00 gm/lit.
Neutral Red : 0.075 gm/lit.
pH at 25 °C : 7.4 ± 0.2
Notes
  Directions :
1.Add 47.0 gm powder to distilled/deionized water.
2.Bring volume to 1.0 liter and mix thoroughly.
3.Heat gently and bring to boiling.
4.Autoclave at 15 psi pressure at 121°C for 15 minutes.
Applications:
For the isolation and detection of coliforms and enteric pathogens from urine. Provides a low electrolyte medium on which most Proteus species will not swarm thus preventing overgrowth of the plate.
