This technique involves separation of different components of a solution based on their sizes. A stationary phase contains porous beads of a certain polymer and the mobile phase constitutes the mixture to be separated. The smaller sized components of the mixture enter the pores and get entrapped in the stationary phase. Whereas the larger components, being too large to enter the pores, will reach the bottom of the chromatography column and will elute out first.The students may also have some hands-on practice with this kit owing to a prototype sample included in the kit.
