Description
DNase I (bovine pancreas) is a glycoprotein and double strand specific endonuclease which is made free of RNase activity. It is best suited for specific applications, where maintenance of RNA integrity is critical. The protein requires divalent cations for maximal activity. Supplied in 20mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.6), 1mM DTT, 0.1mg/ml Nuclease Free BSA and 50% (v/v) glycerol.
Unit Definition :
One unit is that amount of enzyme causing an increase in absorbance at 260 nm by 0.001 per minute at 25°C and pH 5.0.
Application :
DNase I (RNase free) is used in purification of DNA – free RNA made by in-vitro synthesis using SP6 or T7 RNA Polymerase system.Used for radioactive labelling by nick translation.
