DNA Quantification Teaching kit 5 experiments
₹4,158.00 + ₹498.96 GST
₹4,656.96 (Incl. of all taxes)
DESCRIPTION:
Determination of concentration of DNA or RNA molecule in a solution is very important and necessary for most of the downstream application in molecular biology. DNA can be quantified by different methods like Absorbance (optical density), Agarose gel electrophoresis, Fluorometer and Colorimetric method DNA can be quantitated in an agarose gel by comparing the intensity of the fluorescence emitted by an ethidium bromide stained DNA sample relative to a dilution series of a DNA standard of known concentration. The most common technique to determine DNA concentration and purity is by absorbance measurement (Spectrophotometer) if the DNA sample is pure. The concentration is estimated by measuring the absorbance at 260nm, multiplying by the dilution factor and using the relationship that an A260 of 1.0 = 50μg /ml of DNA This kit helps in studying and quantifying DNA by spectrophotometer and colorimeter. In colorimetric method the Standard DNA Solution and the Test DNA Solution will be made to react with Diphenylamine (DPA) which results in the hydrolysis of DNA to produce a blue colored compound. The intensity of this colored compound will be measured at 660nm in a spectrophotometer or colorimeter and a standard curve will be plotted using the absorbance values of the Standard DNA Solution. The concentration of the Test DNA Solution will be determined by comparing with a standard curve.
