  Applications:
For selective isolation and cultivation of pathogenic Gram-positive cocci from clinical and non-clinical specimens.
Composition:
Ingredients : gm/lt.
Agar : 15.00
Sodium chloride : 5.00
Corn starch : 1.00
Biopeptone : 20.00
Tryptose : 3.00
Colistin sulphate : 0.010
Nalidixic acid : 0.015
Directions:
1. Add 44.00 gm powder to 1.0 liter distilled/deionized water and mix thoroughly.
2. Gently heat and bring to boiling.
3. Autoclave at 15 psi pressure at 121°C for 15 minutes.
4. Cool to 45 - 50°C.
5. Add aseptically 5.0% to 10.0% sterile defibrinated blood.
6. Mix well.
