  Applications:
A chromogenic media recommended for the isolation and selective identification of Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) from clinical isolates.
Composition:
Ingredients : gms/lt.
Peptone : 13.00
Beef extract (ex.buffalo) : 2.50
Yeast extract : 2.50
Sodium chloride : 40.00
Chromogenic mixture : 5.30
Sodium pyruvate : 5.00
Agar : 15.00
Directions:
1. Add 41.65 gm powder to distilled/deionized water.
2. Bring volume to 500.0 ml and mix thoroughly.
3. Gently heat and bring to boiling.
4. Autoclave at 15 psi pressure at 121°C for 15 minutes.
5. If desired, dispense aseptically contents of one vial of MRSA Selective Supplement and Cefoxitin Supplement.
6. Mix well and pour into sterile plates.
