For the selective identification and differentiation of Listeria monocytogenes.
Composition:
Ingredients : gm/lit.
Peptone, Special : 23.00
Sodium chloride : 5.00
Yeast extract : 1.00
Meat extract : 5.00
Lithium chloride : 5.00
Rhamnose : 10.00
Phenol Red : 0.12
Chromogenic mixture : 5.13
Agar : 13.00
Directions:
1. Add 33.62 gm powder to 500.0 ml distilled/deionized water and mix thoroughly.
2. Gently heat and bring to boiling.
3. Autoclave at 15 psi pressure at 121°C for 15 minutes.
4. If desired, aseptically add 1 vial of Listeria Selective Supplement. Mix well.
