  Applications:
A chromogenic medium used for the isolation of Bacillus species from a mixed culture in foods, clinical and non-clinical samples.

Composition:
Ingredients : gm/lt.
Peptic digest of animal tissue : 10.00
D-Mannitol : 10.00
Meat extract : 1.00
Sodium chloride : 10.00
Chromogenic mixture : 3.20
Phenol Red : 0.025
Agar : 15.00

Directions:
1. Add 49.22 gm powder to 1000 ml of distilled/deionized water and mix thoroughly.
2. Gently heat and bring to boiling.
3. Autoclave at 15 psi pressure at 121°C for 15 minutes.
4. Cool to 45- 50°C ; if desired add 1 vial of Polymyxin B Selective Supplement (35980 ).Mix well and dispense in petri plates.
