  Application:
For the differentiation of enteric pathogens based on their ability to utilize citrate as a carbon source.
Composition:
Ingredients : gm/lt.
Yeast extract : 0.50
L-Cysteine hydrochloride : 0.10
Sodium citrate : 3.00
Dextrose : 0.20
Monopotassium phosphate : 1.00
Sodium chloride : 5.00
Phenol Red : 0.012
Agar : 15.00
Directions:
1. Add 24.81 gm powder to 1.0 liter of distilled/deionized water and mix thoroughly.
2. Gently heat and bring to boiling.
3. Dispense into test tubes.
4. Autoclave at 15 psi pressure at 121°C for 15 minutes.
