Description
DNA is purified from calf thymus. The white fibrous preparation is dissolved at 1 mg/ml to give a clear viscous solution. DNA is supplied in 10 mM Tris-Hcl (pH 8.0) and 1 mM EDTA.
Purity is of the order of 90% as determined by hydrolysis of DNA by perchloric acid which is measured spectrophotometrically.
Protein Content: Protein less than 5% as determined by Lowry method of Lowry et al.
Application:
- Used as a substrate for Deoxyribonucelase.
- Activated calf thymus DNA is a suitable substrate for unit estimation of DNA polymerases.
Storage : -20°C.
Note: For continous use, keep the product refrigerated. For extended use, the product can be stored frozen in smaller aliquots.
