Tryptose: 10.00 gm/lit.

Directions :
1.Add 40.0 gm powder to distilled/deionized water.
2.Bring volume to 950.0 ml and mix thoroughly.
3.Heat with agitation and boil for one minute.
4.Autoclave at 15 psi pressure at 121°C for 15 minutes.
5.Cool to 45-50°C and aseptically add 50.0 ml of sterile sheep blood and mix well.

Applications :
For the isolation and growth of a wide variety of microorganisms.For the detection of the hemolytic reaction of Streptococci and other fastidious microorganism. The slightly acidic pH of this medium enhances distinct hemolytic reactions.
