  Applications:
For the preparation of blood agar by the addition of sheep blood.
Composition:
Ingredients : gm/lt.
Agar : 15.00
Sodium chloride : 5.00
Pancreatic digest of casein : 13.00
Yeast extract : 5.00
Heart muscle solids from infusion : 2.00
Directions:
1. Add 40.00 gm powder to distilled/deionized water.
2. Bring volume to 950 ml and mix thoroughly.
3. Gently heat and bring to boiling.
4. Autoclave at 15 psi pressure at 121°C for 15 minutes.
5. Cool to 45-50°C.
6. Add aseptically 50.0 ml sterile defibrinated sheep blood, Mix thoroughly.
7. Dispense into sterile petri plates.
