Description
6X Cresol Red DNA Loading Dye is used as DNA tracking dye in agarose gel electrophoresis. The Gel Loading Dye consists of Cresol Red sodium salt dissolved in tris buffer and glycerol. Cresol Red dye migrates through the agarose gels at approximately 1.5 kb.
1X Cresol Red DNA Loading Dye Composition:
- Cresol Red Sodium Salt – 0.04%
- Glycerol – 6.6%
- Tris – 1.7mM
- EDTA – 10mM
Note :
- The dye is supplied in 6x concentration.
- Working concentration is 1X ie. Add 1/6th volume of 6X Cresol Red
DNA Loading Dye to DNA sample.
For eg : To a 50μl reaction volume,add 8 μl of 6X Cresol Red DNA Loading Dye.
- Mix thoroughly before loading onto agarose gel.
- Working aliquot can be stored at 4°C.
